Happy Fall!
The colors seemingly came later than usual this year, but when they did, WOW, what a show.
This years estate grape harvest was very little. Certainly the least we have ever harvested on our property. The two freezes early in the year killed the first and then second bud on all of our fruit producing plants and trees on our farm. Luckily the grape plants have a third bud that just produces leaves as a survival method, so the anatomy of the plant remains healthy throughout the season.
We have great relationships with other vineyards around the state, so we sourced our grapes from them. Locations like Osgood, Crawfordsville, Danville, and Ashley Indiana.
In the past couple of weeks we received and installed our new bottling line. This machine will fill, cork or screw-cap, capsule, and label the wine for us. About 16 bottles a minute.
This has been quite an orchestration with the growth of the winery, and holding back vintages to bottle so we can test all the bells and whistles of this amazing machine.
We are all very satisfied with our efforts, we hope you will to, as this helps us place the wine into the bottles with more care, and protection to eliminate exposure to oxygen.
